Six-Foot-Three Five-Star Forward from Tacoma Commits to South Carolina Gamecocks over LSU, Tennessee, and Texas

The 6-foot-3 five-star forward from Tacoma, Washington, announced her decision this week, choosing South Carolina over other national contenders LSU, Tennessee, and Texas. Her commitment marks a pivotal moment in the 2025 recruiting cycle and underscores South Carolina’s continued dominance on the recruiting trail.

The forward, who plays high school basketball for Elite Sports Academy, has built a national reputation as a versatile and athletic presence on both ends of the court. Known for her shot-blocking ability, dynamic scoring, and court vision, she has been a standout since her freshman year and has consistently drawn praise from scouts and college coaches alike. Her rare combination of size, agility, and basketball IQ has earned her a top-10 national ranking and the title of one of the most complete forwards in the 2025 class.

In a televised announcement streamed on social media, the Tacoma native thanked her family, coaches, and mentors before revealing her decision to don the garnet and black. “South Carolina felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus,” she said. “Coach Staley’s vision, the team culture, and the fan support are second to none. I want to win championships, and I believe South Carolina gives me the best platform to do that.” Her commitment was met with excitement across Gamecock Nation, as fans flooded social media with messages of welcome and anticipation.

South Carolina beat out some serious competition to land the prized recruit. LSU, Tennessee, and Texas each made strong pitches, offering storied programs and proven coaching staffs. LSU in particular had been viewed as a close contender, given its recent NCAA title run and the presence of high-profile talent. However, the forward’s desire to be mentored by Staley, herself a former WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist, ultimately tipped the scales in favor of Columbia, SC.

Elite Sports Academy head coach Marcus Daniels praised the decision and emphasized the player’s fit with the Gamecock program. “She’s a game-changer, a leader, and someone who thrives in a competitive environment. South Carolina is getting not just a great player, but a great person,” Daniels said. “She’s ready for the next level, and she’s going to make an immediate impact.” Daniels also acknowledged the national attention the commitment has brought to Elite Sports Academy, a relatively new but fast-rising program in the Pacific Northwest.

With this commitment, South Carolina continues to build a recruiting class that could rival the best in the nation. Already stacked with elite talent, the Gamecocks are reloading rather than rebuilding after their recent Final Four appearance. For the 6-foot-3 star from Tacoma, the decision marks the beginning of what could be a legendary college career—and possibly a future in the WNBA. For now, fans can look forward to watching one of the most electric young players in the country take the court in Columbia starting in the fall of 2025.
