Is it time to sell Gakpo for 60 million £ to fund future signings like Barcola and Nico Williams ?!

Liverpool’s transfer strategy has sparked fresh debate, with reports suggesting the club may need to balance the books by selling players before making more marquee signings. One name being discussed is Cody Gakpo, who could reportedly attract offers in the region of £60 million after impressing with his versatility and consistent performances.

Selling Gakpo would undoubtedly be a difficult decision. Since arriving at Anfield, the Dutch international has delivered important goals, assists, and the ability to play across the front line. At just 27, he remains one of Liverpool’s most valuable attacking assets, making any potential sale a major talking point among supporters.

However, the financial reward from such a deal could allow Liverpool to pursue elite talents like Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams. Both wingers are regarded as explosive young stars with exceptional pace, creativity, and long-term potential. Bringing either player to Anfield could refresh Liverpool’s attack and strengthen the squad for years to come.

The biggest question is whether replacing Gakpo with Barcola or Williams would actually improve the team. While both targets offer exciting qualities, there is no guarantee they would adapt immediately to the Premier League or replicate Gakpo’s proven contributions. Liverpool would be taking a calculated risk in pursuit of higher potential.

Ultimately, whether Liverpool should sell Gakpo depends on the club’s long-term vision. If the £60 million fee is essential to fund multiple signings and reshape the squad, the move could make financial sense. But if Liverpool can strengthen without sacrificing an established performer, many fans would argue that keeping Gakpo is the wiser choice.
