Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has concluded his record-breaking collegiate career and is now setting his sights on the 2025 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be a potential first-round pick.
On Tuesday, Jeanty officially announced his decision to declare for the draft, expressing pride in representing Boise State as he pursues his NFL dreams. “The opportunity to play in the NFL is a dream of mine, and I’m proud to represent Boise State and all of those who have helped me along the way at the next level,” Jeanty shared in a post on X.

Jeanty’s impressive college career ended in the opening round of the College Football Playoff, with Boise State falling to Penn State. Despite the team’s playoff exit, Jeanty’s performance throughout the season has solidified his status as one of the top running back prospects.
David Cobb of CBS Sports has reported that Jeanty is considered the premier running back in the draft class and is projected as a mid to high first-round pick. The CBS Sports draft rankings place Jeanty as the No. 1 running back and the No. 13 overall prospect.
These projections are echoed by other analysts, including Pro Football Focus (PFF), which predicts Jeanty will be selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 13 overall pick. “Beyond his overall output, Jeanty was incredibly efficient, boasting a 96.6 PFF rushing grade, a 99th-percentile figure in missed tackles forced per attempt, and a 98th-percentile yards after contact,” the PFF mock draft noted. “He is one of the best football players in the draft, and Dallas needs a player like that badly on its offense.”
As Jeanty prepares for the next stage of his football career, he carries with him the hopes of Boise State fans and the potential to make an immediate impact at the professional level.
