Alabama’s Jalen Milroe Reveals Surprising Fear Ahead of ReliaQuest Bowl: “That’s One Thing I Do Not Do”

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe might fearlessly charge down the field and take on tough defenses, but when it comes to roller coasters, he draws the line. After the Crimson Tide’s practice for their upcoming ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan, the team was scheduled to enjoy a trip to Busch Gardens on Saturday to unwind before the big game. While many players were ready to enjoy the theme park’s thrills, Milroe wasn’t one of them.

“I do not do roller coasters,” Milroe told reporters, laughing. “That’s one thing I do not do.”

Despite his fearless play on the field, including being a key player in Alabama’s goal-line rushing game and sometimes threading passes into tight windows, Milroe admitted that his attitude toward roller coasters has changed with age. “When I was younger, I had no fear,” he said. “I used to do everything, like it was nothing. But now, I’m older. I gotta stay away from roller coasters. I’m scared of those things, I’m not gonna lie… Might get me a funnel cake or something.”

It seems Milroe wasn’t the only player to back out of the thrill rides. Running back Jam Miller, who did attend the Busch Gardens trip, also passed on the Falcon’s Fury drop tower. His teammates had a bit of fun with him for skipping the ride, but it’s all in good spirits.

The Crimson Tide will shift their focus back to football as they prepare for the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan, set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. CT at Raymond James Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
