San Francisco 49ers linebacker Curtis Robinson has been named the team’s 2024 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee, a recognition of his unwavering dedication to uplifting his community. From educational initiatives to social justice advocacy, Robinson’s efforts embody the award’s spirit.
Robinson’s commitment to education stems from his upbringing. Inspired by his mother, a lifelong educator, he has focused on ensuring equitable access to quality education. He regularly supports Title I schools by teaching STEAM concepts through football and mentoring students. He donated $5,000 for classroom supplies to programs promoting Black educators and led efforts to provide resources to underserved teachers in Oakland.
Robinson is also a leader in social justice. As a member of the 49ers Social Justice Player Committee, he has helped allocate over $1 million to nonprofits and mentored youth supported by these organizations. His Read for Justice initiative distributed books on diversity and inclusion to over 1,000 students, fostering awareness and understanding.
