Derby County are taking their rivalry beyond the football pitch as two of the club’s midfield talents prepare to go head-to-head in a brand-new gaming showdown.

Bobby Clark and David Ozoh are set to face each other on EA SPORTS FC 27, becoming the first Derby County players to take part in the club’s new ‘The Rams LoadedEN Gaming Series’.

The announcement has given Rams supporters something completely different to look forward to, with Clark and Ozoh swapping the pitch for the virtual arena as they battle for bragging rights in the first edition of what promises to be an entertaining new series.

Both players have been described as midfield maestros, and the decision to put them against one another immediately gives the opening episode an intriguing competitive edge.

While Derby County supporters are accustomed to seeing their players compete at Pride Park, this latest contest will offer fans an opportunity to see a different side of the two midfielders.

The club has confirmed that the full video will be released at 6pm, giving supporters plenty of reason to stay tuned for the opening instalment.

For Derby, the new series is also another way of bringing players and supporters closer together away from the intensity of matchday football. Gaming content has become an increasingly popular way for clubs to showcase the personalities of their players, and Clark and Ozoh will now have the opportunity to entertain the Rams faithful in an entirely different setting.

There is also a natural competitive storyline surrounding the matchup.

Clark and Ozoh may be teammates when representing Derby County on the football pitch, but there will be no room for friendship once the controllers are in their hands. The first edition of the series promises to turn the two midfielders into virtual opponents, with pride and bragging rights at stake.

For supporters, the appeal goes beyond simply watching a game of EA SPORTS FC 27.

It is a chance to see the personalities behind two Derby players who normally earn attention for their performances on the pitch. Their reactions, competitiveness and ability to handle the pressure of a completely different challenge could make the opening episode one to remember.

And with the club officially launching ‘The Rams LoadedEN Gaming Series’, there is plenty of potential for more Derby players to feature in future editions.

The opening matchup between Clark and Ozoh therefore carries an added significance. It is not just another piece of club content — it represents the beginning of a new series designed to give Rams fans another way to connect with the squad.

The big question now is simple: which Derby midfielder will come out on top?

Will Bobby Clark claim the first victory and establish himself as the inaugural champion of the series, or will David Ozoh produce a winning performance and immediately take the bragging rights?

Rams supporters will not have to wait much longer for the answer.

The full video drops at 6pm, with Derby County fans invited to watch as two of their midfield stars settle the battle in the virtual world.

The pitch may be replaced by a screen, but the competitive spirit remains unmistakably Derby.
