Alabama football appears set to have starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor available for the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan. After battling through injuries with the possibility of missing the game, Proctor is expected to take the field on Tuesday.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer addressed Proctor’s status during Monday’s coaches press conference. “We’re expecting him to play,” DeBoer confirmed, providing a boost to Alabama’s offensive line outlook.
Proctor’s availability had been in question after he sat out observation periods during Friday’s practice in Tampa, opting instead for a stationary bike. However, the sophomore returned to full participation on Saturday and was not wearing a non-contact jersey, signaling significant progress in his recovery.
The 2024 season has been a challenging one for Proctor. The left tackle suffered an injury during pregame warmups ahead of the season opener against Western Kentucky, causing him to miss the first two games. Alabama adjusted by shuffling its offensive line, utilizing a combination of Wilkin Forby, Elijah Pritchett, and Tyler Booker to fill the void.
Proctor returned in Week 3 against Wisconsin and has been a consistent presence since. His season followed a dramatic offseason in which he briefly transferred to Iowa before rejoining Alabama, where he secured the starting left tackle role as a true freshman in 2023.
The Tide will face Michigan on Tuesday at 11 a.m. CT at Raymond James Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
