Seattle just won the Super Bowl. Now Polymarket says they’ll win the next one too. And the man who nearly stopped them is coming back angrier than ever.
The confetti from Super Bowl 60 has barely settled, and the NFL world is already placing its bets on 2027. According to Polymarket, the Seattle Seahawks lead all teams with a 12% probability of winning next year’s championship, backed by $162,485 in trading volume. Nobody else is even close at the top.
It makes sense. Seattle dominated the New England Patriots to capture Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, completing one of the most impressive postseason runs in recent memory. Their “Dark Side” defense held opponents to a league-low 17.2 points per game, the best mark since the legendary Legion of Boom era. A team built this well does not fall apart in twelve months.
But here is where the 2027 race gets genuinely interesting.
Matthew Stafford walked away from the NFL Honors ceremony with the AP Most Valuable Player award and a declaration that is sending shockwaves through the NFC West: he is returning to the Los Angeles Rams for another season. Stafford edged Drake Maye for MVP in the closest race since Peyton Manning and Steve McNair were co-winners in 2003.
The Rams sit at 9% on Polymarket, second only to Seattle. That is not a coincidence.
In the NFC Championship Game, Stafford completed 22 of 35 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns with zero turnovers, only to fall 31-27 in heartbreaking fashion. A 38-year-old quarterback, fresh off his best statistical season, returning with unfinished business against the exact team that ended his year? That is the most dangerous man in football.
Seattle is the favourite. Stafford is the threat. And the 2027 NFL season has not even started yet.
