CONFIRMED: Florida Panthers Management Announces Players Set to Depart After 2025 Season

Florida Panthers have officially confirmed the list of players who are set to leave the franchise following the conclusion of the 2025 season. The announcement, made during a press conference by General Manager Bill Zito, marks a significant moment for the franchise, as several key figures who helped the team reach the Stanley Cup Finals era are now preparing for their final year in a Panthers jersey.

Leading the list of departures is veteran forward Sam Reinhart, whose contract negotiations reportedly hit a deadlock earlier this year. Reinhart, a core part of the Panthers’ offense and one of the team’s most consistent scorers, is expected to test free agency in hopes of securing a long-term, high-value deal. His leadership on and off the ice will undoubtedly be missed, and fans are already expressing their disappointment on social media platforms.

Another notable exit is defenseman Brandon Montour. Known for his aggressive blue-line presence and offensive contributions from the back end, Montour has been instrumental in the team’s recent postseason runs. With his contract expiring and younger talent rising through the ranks, the team appears to be shifting toward a strategic rebuild on defense.

Goaltender Anthony Stolarz is also set to leave after serving as a dependable backup in the crease. While not the team’s marquee goalie, Stolarz’s contributions in tight games and his steady performances in spot starts have earned him respect in the locker room. Sources indicate that Stolarz will likely seek a starting role elsewhere, with several teams showing preliminary interest.

Additionally, long-time role players such as Ryan Lomberg and defenseman Josh Mahura are also heading out after the 2025 season. Both have been praised for their gritty play, versatility, and locker room presence, but the club is reportedly looking to inject new energy into the bottom six forward lines and third-pair defensive slots through trades and prospects from their AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.

Florida Panthers fans will undoubtedly face an emotional rollercoaster as they bid farewell to these familiar faces. While the team has reiterated its commitment to competing at a high level, this reshaping signals a new chapter. With a combination of cap considerations and future-focused planning, the Panthers seem poised to undergo a transformative off-season heading into 2026.
