The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for a high-stakes showdown in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, set to take on the No. 1 Oregon Ducks in a Rose Bowl rematch.

Ohio State earned their spot with a commanding 42-17 victory over Tennessee in the opening round, showcasing their offensive firepower. However, the matchup against Oregon carries added weight, as the Ducks handed the Buckeyes a narrow 32-31 defeat back in Week 7. This time, Ohio State is on a mission for redemption as they aim to keep their national championship hopes alive.

The Buckeyes teased the highly anticipated game with a dramatic social media post featuring a voiceover declaring, The granddaddy of them all, it’s the Rose Bowl game.

“For all the roses.”

The team enters the matchup as a 2.5-point favorite, according to ESPN BET, despite their prior loss to the Ducks.

Ohio State’s 11-2 season includes impressive wins over No. 9 Tennessee, No. 3 Penn State, and No. 5 Indiana, though blemished by losses to Oregon and Michigan.

Oregon, on the other hand, stands as the only undefeated team in the Power Four. At 13-0, the Ducks secured a first-round playoff bye and boast victories over top teams like No. 20 Illinois and No. 3 Penn State. They’ll aim to extend their perfect season to 14-0 and solidify their dominance.

The Rose Bowl clash promises to be a thrilling battle between two powerhouse programs. Kickoff is set for January 1 at 5 p.m. ET, with the college football world eagerly awaiting this marquee matchup.
