Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen is set to rejoin the Washington Commanders for their Sunday night matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Allen, who had been sidelined since Week 6 with a pectoral injury initially believed to be season-ending, was activated from injured reserve on Saturday. His recovery progressed faster than anticipated, allowing him to return in time to aid the Commanders in their playoff push.
The team also confirmed that quarterback Marcus Mariota is no longer on the injury report after being listed as questionable for personal reasons earlier in the week.
In additional roster moves, the Commanders waived defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis. To bolster their lineup, they elevated cornerback Kevon Seymour and wide receiver Brycen Tremayne from the practice squad on a temporary basis.
These changes set the stage for a pivotal game as Washington fights to keep its postseason hopes alive.
