Big Congratulations: Paul McCartney and The Beatles Triumph at the 2025 Grammy Awards
The 2025 Grammy Awards were a night to remember for music legends Paul McCartney and The Beatles. Although Paul McCartney didn’t directly win an award on June 18, his birthday, the band’s song “Now and Then” took home the coveted Best Rock Performance award earlier this year in February. This win marked a historic moment for the band, as “Now and Then” was the first AI-assisted song to ever win a Grammy award .

The song “Now and Then” was built upon an unfinished demo recorded by John Lennon prior to his death. Modern AI technology enabled Lennon’s vocals to be lifted, and new contributions from Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr meant all four members of The Beatles were once again present on the tune. Sean Lennon Ono, John Lennon’s son, accepted the Grammy on behalf of his late father’s band, expressing his gratitude and admiration for the band’s enduring legacy.

The win for “Now and Then” is not just a testament to the band’s timeless music but also highlights the innovative use of AI technology in music production. The song’s completion was a collaborative effort between human creativity and technological facilitation, demonstrating the potential of AI to sustain and embellish historical legacies in music.

Paul McCartney’s contribution to “Now and Then” is a reminder of his enduring legacy in the music industry. With a career spanning decades, McCartney has been part of some of the most iconic bands and collaborations in music history. His work with The Beatles, Wings, and as a solo artist has earned him numerous accolades, including multiple Grammy wins.

Although Paul McCartney didn’t win a Grammy on his birthday, June 18, the band’s earlier win in February is still a cause for celebration. The Beatles’ music continues to inspire and influence new generations of musicians and fans, and their legacy is a testament to the power of music to transcend time and technology.

The Beatles’ win at the 2025 Grammy Awards is a reminder of the band’s timeless legacy and the enduring power of their music. As Sean Lennon Ono said, “Play The Beatles music to your kids. I feel like the world can’t afford to forget about people like The Beatles. We need this music in the world. We need peace and love and we need the magic of the ’60s to stay alive”.
