She also contributed two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Miami excelled defensively, holding SMU to 33.3% shooting from the field and just 24.2% from three-point range, while offensively, the Hurricanes shot 44% from beyond the arc, their second-best mark this season.

Darrione Rogers supported with 13 points and a season-high eight rebounds, hitting 4-9 three-pointers. Jasmyne Roberts added six points and seven rebounds, while Hanna Cavinder recorded eight assists and seven boards. Cameron Williams and Natalija Marshall combined for 10 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks, anchoring Miami’s post play. Ahnay Adams provided a spark off the bench with four points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Miami started strong with a 10-3 lead but faced a competitive SMU team that tied the game at 27 late in the second quarter. The Hurricanes entered halftime ahead 32-28. Although SMU took a brief third-quarter lead, Miami responded with an 11-2 run to regain control, finishing the quarter up 54-45. They extended their lead to 18 in the fourth before SMU mounted an 11-0 run, cutting the deficit to three. However, Cavinder’s late free throws sealed the win.

Miami next faces Virginia at home on January 30, aiming to build on this team effort.
