In a thrilling display at the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Indianapolis, Seth Hammaker clinched his second career 250SX victory during the highly anticipated East/West Showdown. The event, held at Lucas Oil Stadium on March 8, 2025, brought together top talent from both coasts, making Hammaker’s win particularly significant.
Hammaker, representing the 250SX East division, showcased impeccable form throughout the day. He topped the qualifying charts, setting the fastest lap time among his peers.
This momentum carried into the main event, where he secured the holeshot and maintained a commanding lead from start to finish.
Reflecting on his performance, Hammaker expressed immense satisfaction. “Man, what an unreal feeling,” he remarked. “My second win of my career, and it’s been a while since I stood on the top step of the podium. I got myself off to an excellent start and tried to sprint away in those first couple of laps. Man, it was a tough track out there. You had to be really focused.”
The track conditions posed challenges for many riders, but Hammaker’s precision and focus allowed him to navigate the ruts and technical sections effectively. A minor bobble in the whoops during the mid-stages of the race momentarily threatened his lead, but he quickly regained composure, maintaining a comfortable gap over his competitors.
Tom Vialle secured the second spot on the podium, finishing 5.766 seconds behind Hammaker. Vialle acknowledged the track’s difficulty, stating, “Slowly getting back in the rhythm, and I feel great. Like Daytona, I was again close to the victory, but Seth rode amazing. I was happy with second place. The track was really tricky tonight, pretty easy to make a mistake.”
Haiden Deegan rounded out the podium in third place. Despite a slow start and an off-track excursion midway through the race, Deegan showcased resilience, climbing through the ranks to secure his position. He commented, “I wanted the win, but it’s all good… I ended up airing out that quad or whatever you call it and ended up busting up my engine because I landed super-hard, so I was just trying to be smart and ride it in.”
This victory marks a significant milestone for Hammaker, who has faced various challenges since his rookie season in 2021, where he claimed his first 250SX main event win and earned the AMA Supercross Rookie of the Year title.
