Star running back Trevor Etienne hinted at his departure following the Sugar Bowl, reflecting on the meaningful relationships he had built. “It means a lot, man,” Etienne said post-game. “These are memories with relationships I’ve built with guys and moments that you can never get back, that you’ll remember forever. I will forever look back on these moments. And I’m just blessed to be a part of something this special and glad to have built the relationships with these guys around me.”
Two weeks later, Etienne confirmed his plans. On Tuesday night, he announced via Instagram his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. In his heartfelt message, Etienne expressed gratitude to head coach Kirby Smart and the UGA coaching staff.
“To Coach Smart and the UGA Coaching Staff, the past year has been an incredible journey,” Etienne wrote. “It means the world to me that you trusted in me and gave me an opportunity to provide immediate impact. Your culture of excellence left a lasting impact on me, and I am forever better for my time in the Red and Black. My experience as a Dawg was nothing short of amazing.”
