Urban Meyer, a name synonymous with success in college football, has been inducted into the Class of 2025 College Football Hall of Fame, with his tenure at Ohio State standing out as a defining period of his illustrious career.

Meyer took over as head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2012, quickly transforming the program into a powerhouse. His debut season was nothing short of remarkable, leading the team to a perfect 12-0 record despite being ineligible for postseason play. This was just the beginning of a dominant era for the Buckeyes under his leadership.

In 2014, Meyer guided Ohio State to its first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship, defeating Oregon 42-20. That season, the Buckeyes overcame the loss of two starting quarterbacks, showcasing Meyer’s exceptional coaching ability and the depth of talent he cultivated. His innovative offensive strategies and emphasis on discipline helped solidify Ohio State as a perennial contender.

During his seven seasons in Columbus, Meyer compiled an impressive 83-9 record, winning three Big Ten titles and securing multiple top-tier bowl victories. His impact extended beyond the field, as he developed numerous NFL talents and maintained a high standard of academic excellence among his players.

Meyer’s induction into the College Football Hall of Fame is a testament to his legacy at Ohio State, where his contributions have left an indelible mark on the program’s storied history.
