As the Capital One Orange Bowl looms, both Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman and Penn State’s James Franklin have provided key updates and insights into their teams’ preparations and strategies.

Notre Dame’s head coach Marcus Freeman confirmed that standout running back Jeremiah Love will be available for the game, though he may need to be managed carefully. “Jeremiah will play, but we’ll have to take him out at times to ensure he stays fresh and healthy,” Freeman explained. Despite this, Freeman expressed confidence in the depth and stability of the Fighting Irish’s running back corps. “We’re confident in the group we have. Our running backs are ready to step up and deliver when called upon,” he added, signaling trust in his team’s ability to adapt and maintain a strong rushing attack.

On the other sideline, Penn State’s head coach James Franklin spoke about his team’s approach to the game, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and creating opportunities. “We’re going to have to grind it out,” Franklin stated. “Patience will be key, but we also need to capitalize on explosive plays when they present themselves.” This balanced approach reflects Penn State’s intent to remain composed while looking for moments to strike decisively.

Franklin also provided an update on linebacker Abdul Carter, a pivotal figure in the Nittany Lions’ defense. “Abdul’s situation is positive,” Franklin assured, suggesting that Carter is in good shape to contribute significantly in the game. Carter’s presence on the field could be crucial in containing Notre Dame’s offensive threats, particularly quarterback Riley Leonard.

With both teams showcasing strategic depth and readiness, the Capital One Orange Bowl promises to be a competitive clash. Coaches Freeman and Franklin’s comments reflect the intense preparation and tactical awareness that will be on display as the two teams vie for victory.
