San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward and his partner, Monique Cook, joyfully welcomed their son, Charvarius Jr., on Saturday, in Dallas.
Ward, affectionately known as “Mooney,” had been absent from team activities over the weekend in anticipation of his son’s birth.
This joyous occasion follows a period of profound sorrow for the couple. In October 2024, they mourned the tragic loss of their 23-month-old daughter, Amani Joy. Ward had previously shared heartfelt reflections on social media, expressing the deep impact Amani had on their lives.
The arrival of Charvarius Jr. brings renewed happiness to the Ward family. Ward’s teammates and coaches have expressed their support and congratulations during this significant time. Head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged the personal nature of Ward’s absence, stating, “Yeah, stuff I can’t totally share… But nothing bad happened.”
