Brock Boeser Signs Seven-Year Extension with Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks have made a major long-term commitment to one of their most consistent and loyal players, Brock Boeser. The team announced the signing of a seven-year contract extension worth $50.75 million, carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $7.25 million. This move not only solidifies Boeser’s future with the franchise but also signals the organization’s confidence in his role as a cornerstone of the team’s success moving forward.

Boeser, who has been with the Canucks since being drafted 23rd overall in the 2015 NHL Draft, is the team’s longest-tenured player. Over the years, he has developed into a reliable scorer and respected locker room presence. Known for his lethal wrist shot and hockey IQ, Boeser has consistently contributed offensively, racking up multiple 20+ goal seasons despite battling injuries at times. His perseverance and dedication to the team have made him a fan favorite in Vancouver.

In a statement following the contract announcement, Boeser shared his enthusiasm and loyalty to the team and city. “My heart was always in Vancouver,” he said. “This is where I’ve grown as a player and as a person. I’m thrilled to be staying here long-term, and I believe in what we’re building.” His commitment reinforces the Canucks’ broader strategy of building a core group that is both talented and cohesive.

General Manager Patrik Allvin praised Boeser for his leadership and consistency. “Brock has shown time and again that he’s a valuable contributor on and off the ice. Securing him long-term was a priority for us. He embodies what it means to be a Canuck, and we look forward to seeing him continue to thrive in Vancouver.” The front office’s move to lock in Boeser may also serve to stabilize the locker room and inspire younger players coming up through the ranks.

The extension comes at a crucial time as the Canucks continue reshaping their roster to compete in the Western Conference. Boeser’s deal gives them cost certainty for a key piece of their top six forward group. With Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes also under contract, the Canucks are aiming to cement their identity as a playoff-caliber team. The move could also serve as a positive signal to other pending free agents and trade targets, showing Vancouver’s commitment to keeping its core intact.

As the 2025–26 season approaches, fans in Vancouver have reason to be optimistic. Boeser’s signing represents more than just dollars and term—it’s a declaration of loyalty, leadership, and long-term vision. For a franchise often caught between rebuilding and contending, this deal might just be the anchor the Canucks need to finally tip the balance toward sustained success.
