The New York Jets have announced the completion of an interview with Louis Riddick for their vacant General Manager position.
Riddick, 55, is a well-regarded NFL and college football analyst for ESPN and ABC, where he has worked since 2013. Before transitioning to broadcasting, Riddick built a strong resume in NFL front offices, serving with the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
Riddick’s NFL executive career began in 2001 as a pro scout with Washington, where he later served as director of pro personnel from 2005 to 2007. He joined the Eagles as a scout in 2008, was promoted to assistant director of pro personnel in 2009, and eventually became the team’s director of pro personnel from 2010 to 2013.
This is not Riddick’s first time being considered for a GM role. He interviewed for similar positions with the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans in 2020.
The Jets have also interviewed two other candidates: former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff and former Titans GM Jon Robinson. The search for a new GM and head coach is being spearheaded by Jets Chairman Woody Johnson, with The 33rd Team assisting in identifying and vetting candidates.
Riddick brings additional NFL experience from his seven-year playing career with the Falcons, Browns, and Raiders.
Phil Savage and Jeff Ulbrich are currently serving as the Jets’ interim General Manager and head coach, respectively.
