The classification is led by Argentina, world champion, followed by France, runner-up, and Spain, current European champion.

The Portuguese football team rose today to sixth place in the FIFA rankings, overtaking Belgium, in a list that continues to be led by world champion Argentina.

Since the last update, at the end of October, Portugal thrashed Poland at home (5-1) and drew at home against Croatia (1-1), in the last two matches of the Nations League group stage.

Portugal overtook Belgium, which fell from sixth to eighth, being also overtaken by the Netherlands, with the top 5 remaining unchanged, with Argentina maintaining the lead, followed by France, vice-world champion, and Spain, champion of Europe, while Germany re-entered the top 10, in exchange for Colombia, which fell two places, to 12th.

Among Portuguese-speaking countries, Brazil maintains fifth position, with Cape Verde remaining in 72nd place, Angola, under Pedro Gonçalves, falling to 85th and Mozambique rising to 98th. Guinea-Bissau, owned by Luís Boa Morte, is 120th, São Tomé and Príncipe rose to 189th place, Macau is 193rd and Timor-Leste is 196th.

The United Arab Emirates, led by Paulo Bento, rose three places, to 63rd, while Azerbaijan, led by Fernando Santos, moved up one place and is in 117th place. The next update of the FIFA men’s rankings is scheduled for December 12th.
