DEAL REJECTED….Rangers Dismiss Simon’s Allegations of Ethnic Discrimination
Nigeria Premier Football League side Rangers International have dismissed claims made by former player Simon alleging that the club treated him unfairly because of his ethnic background.
The Enugu-based club described the accusations as false and misleading, insisting that decisions regarding players are based strictly on professionalism, discipline, and performance rather than ethnicity or personal affiliations.
In a statement, Rangers reaffirmed their commitment to promoting unity, diversity, and equal opportunities for all players and staff, regardless of their ethnic or cultural backgrounds. The club stressed that it has always maintained high standards of fairness and inclusivity throughout its history.
The management also urged the public and football stakeholders to avoid spreading unverified allegations that could damage the club’s reputation and create unnecessary divisions within the football community.
Simon had reportedly alleged that he faced discrimination during his time at the club because of his ethnic identity. However, Rangers maintained that there was no evidence to support such claims and encouraged anyone with genuine grievances to follow the appropriate channels for resolution.
