Texas Tech Football Needs More From These Three Offensive Players in 2025

Three Offensive Players Texas Tech Football Needs More From in 2025

As Texas Tech gears up for the 2025 college football season, expectations are high for the Red Raiders to make a serious run in the Big 12. With a revamped defense and a solid core of returning players, the spotlight now shifts to the offensive unit. While the team has shown flashes of brilliance on offense in recent years, consistency remains a concern. For Texas Tech to take the next step, several key offensive players must elevate their game. Here are three offensive standouts the Red Raiders need more from in 2025.

1. Behren Morton – Quarterback
After taking over the reins as the starting quarterback, Behren Morton displayed his strong arm and mobility in several matchups last season. However, the inconsistency in his decision-making and a tendency to force throws into tight coverage hampered the offense’s rhythm. Morton has all the physical tools and leadership qualities needed to become one of the premier quarterbacks in the Big 12, but in 2025, he must mature into a game manager who protects the football while still making big plays. If he can improve his accuracy and reduce turnovers, the Red Raiders’ offensive ceiling will rise considerably.

2. Jerand Bradley – Wide Receiver
Jerand Bradley entered last season with high expectations after a breakout 2023 campaign, but he struggled with drops and failed to consistently separate from defenders in 2024. Standing at 6-foot-5, Bradley has the physicality to dominate matchups, especially in the red zone. For Texas Tech to stretch defenses vertically and keep opposing secondaries honest, Bradley must become the reliable go-to target that many projected him to be. A bounce-back year in 2025 could also significantly improve his NFL Draft stock while boosting the Red Raiders’ scoring efficiency.

3. Cam’Ron Valdez – Running Back
Cam’Ron Valdez showed flashes of explosiveness last season but lacked the durability and consistency to be a true workhorse back. In 2025, Texas Tech needs him to shoulder a larger share of the rushing load, particularly in short-yardage and red zone situations. With a young offensive line still developing, Valdez’s ability to make something out of nothing could be critical. Improving his pass protection and becoming a more consistent receiver out of the backfield would also make him a more versatile weapon in the Air Raid scheme.

A strong season from these three players could mean the difference between another middle-of-the-pack finish and a legitimate push for the Big 12 title. Offensive coordinator Zach Kittley has the system in place, but execution from key veterans will determine how far this team can go. With a blend of experience, talent, and a chip on their shoulders, Morton, Bradley, and Valdez hold the keys to Texas Tech’s offensive resurgence.

Ultimately, 2025 presents an opportunity for these offensive stalwarts to rewrite their narratives. Whether it’s redeeming past inconsistencies or finally living up to star potential, the Red Raiders need all three to rise to the occasion if they want to compete on a national level.
