Coby White scored 24 points, including a crucial four-point play, as the Chicago Bulls rallied to defeat the Toronto Raptors 125-115 in overtime on Friday night.
White’s biggest moment came with just four seconds left in regulation when he sank a three-pointer and drew a foul, tying the game at 110 and forcing overtime. In the extra period, Lonzo Ball stepped up, hitting two three-pointers during a decisive 10-2 run that secured the Bulls’ victory.
Josh Giddey played a significant role for Chicago, contributing 19 points and 12 assists, while Zach Collins added a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. On the other side, Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Toronto’s continued struggles. The Raptors have now lost three straight games and nine of their last 11. Immanuel Quickley also had a strong performance with 23 points but fouled out just a minute into overtime.
Toronto had control for much of the game and held a 101-88 lead with nine minutes remaining. However, the Bulls responded with a powerful 12-0 run over the next four and a half minutes to tighten the contest. The Raptors had earlier taken a 63-54 halftime lead, fueled by a 10-2 run to open the second quarter. Despite their strong start, costly mistakes and missed opportunities allowed the Bulls to inch back into the game. Chicago capitalized on turnovers, scoring 24 points off Raptors’ mistakes.
The Bulls played without center Nikola Vucevic, who missed his third consecutive game due to a right calf injury. His absence was felt, as Chicago was outrebounded 51-45 overall and 16-10 on the offensive glass. As Toronto led 110-106 in the final moments, some Bulls fans began heading for the exits. However, those who stayed erupted in cheers when White hit his clutch three-pointer while drawing a foul from Quickley.
Chicago struggled from beyond the arc, making just 13 of 49 attempts, but White’s late-game heroics ensured they secured the most important long-range shot of the night. Up next, Toronto visits Orlando on Sunday, while the Bulls travel to Indiana.
