49ers Reeling as Injury Woes Pile Up Ahead of Week 16.

As Week 16 approaches, the San Francisco 49ers are grappling with multiple injury concerns, including the potential season-ending absence of a key player.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that left tackle Trent Williams may not return in 2024 due to an ongoing ankle injury. Williams, who hasn’t played since the Oct. 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, is unlikely to suit up again this year.

“If he could get back to healthy, we’d play him, but it’s not like that right now,” Shanahan said, per David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “So it’s getting closer to being that way.”

Running back Isaac Guerendo is also struggling with injuries. Initially sidelined by a foot sprain, he is now dealing with a hamstring issue and is not expected to practice on Wednesday.

Other players sidelined include defensive end Nick Bosa (hip, oblique), tackle Jaylon Moore (hip), safety Malik Mustapha (chest), linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles, knee), and offensive lineman Nick Zakelj (illness).

The 49ers will need to navigate these setbacks as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
